(Pittsfield, NH) July 1, 2009: fountains america
Fountains America, a forest management, land brokerage, and GIS
services company based in Pittsfield, New Hampshire, announces that
it has acquired TwoDog forestry software from Foresters Incorporated.
TwoDog is a forest inventory software package used by natural resource
managers to collect and process data to help make informed forest
management decisions and to provide accurate timber valuation. Created
in 1993 by Foresters Incorporated, TwoDog provides a robust suite
of functions in a highly customizable package. The software bundle
provides accurate timber volume calculations in the office and field.
In addition to timber volumes, TwoDog has been designed to enable
data collection and process information on a wide range of non-timber
variables of interest to natural resource managers. “We are
very excited to be able to provide TwoDog to natural resource professionals”
says Philip Bryce, Fountains America President. “It is a great
addition to our existing suite of products and services.”
Both office and field versions of the software are available. OfficeDog runs on your PC and provides extensive custom inventory
design and setup tools along with data entry, calculation and reporting functions. PocketDog runs on Windows Mobile based handheld
computers as a data collector, providing up-to-now summaries and statistics in the field. The graphical interface and touch screen
streamline and simplify data collection in an intuitive manner requiring little to no training for field personnel.”
Britt Boucher, President and Senior Forester of Foresters Incorporated, commented that “TwoDog is one of the most established
of this type of software and we are pleased that Fountains America will be continuing that reputation.”
